I've been contemplating modding my OLP Tony Levin with a bypass switch for the active EQ. I played a Jay Turser passive Stingray copy and I rather liked the tone. I also hate batteries, my bass seems to eat them up a little quicker than I'd like. Plus, my overdrive would have a little more subtlety with a passive signal. Has anyone tried this? I'm assuming that the pickup would sound decent by itself and that it's the same as their passive models.
