These were submerged underwater for a few weeks after hurricane katrina. Stew sent them back to me to see if anything was salvageable... I'm gonna say no.

Wait, I take it back... the stainless steel neck screws from the bolt-on don't look too bad ;)

It's gonna be sad to toss these babies into the dumpster :bawl:

I really feel for the guy who lost those sweet basses. I would be sick if I lost mine. The only thing I can say is that remember 1200 people died because of Katrina. At least this person will live to play another day. :)

Man, those are pricey basses too :meh: . Even if my Kay or Fender got damaged I would be furious! I feel awful :( . At least he still has his Conklins, right?

  15. I believe those were taken as well. :(

  16. wow, those look so much nicer than they did when I sent them back...

yeah, the Conklins are gone, too. pretty much everything. I'm seeing Chris Stambaugh next week to see if he thinks he can save my ancient J-Bass (graphite neck, stainless hardware, etc...). even if my p-ups didn't make it (which is too bad; after 23 years those Barts are so sweet!), there's a chance the rest might. I'm hoping...

    :(

  17. Wow, Stew. I couldn't imagine that...... :(

I hope you can salvage something.

  18. Hey Stew, that's really sad about the basses. Is insurance going to pick this up?

  19. thanks for the kind words, guys. truly. now about this:
how many working musicians at my level can afford insurance and car payments?

yes, you read correctly: they were not insured.

    :(

Oh man Stew. I feel awful! I hope you'll make it through OK though. Our wishes (and prayers) will certainly be with you. I really hope you can salvage your J.
