what do we think of dean basses?
most notibly the 5 and 6 string edges?

  2. They're decent if you like the Ibanez-style thin necks and mid-shy pickups, but the B strings suck (I have an Edge Custom 5). An MTD Kingston 5 would be a much better buy in that price range.

I have 2 dean basses. An Edge 4 and a Razor NT. The Edge was a good starter bass, and I still use it from time to time. I just recently got the Razor and I love this bass! I really like the playability of both of the basses, but the Edge does lack some tone...the Razor is active so I can get more tone out of it. Both of these are 4 string...sorry I can't be much help there. I did play a Razor NT 5 string not too long ago and I was pretty impressed with it. I just like 4 strings though :) Happy shopping and good luck :)
