What does everyone think of the Edge 1? I tried it and like it over the more expensive basses at a local music store I just wanna know what everyone else thinks.

P.S. I am talking feel-wise, I didn't really get a chance to fool around with sound and stuff.

I have a Dean JB sig. and I love it. don't know about the edge 1 though. I do think that they do have great instruments for the money.

When you say Edge 1 do you mean just the standard Edge. I have played a Edge 4 string and a 5 string and I would compare them to an Ibanez SR405.

I didnt really like it. I thought it was very bland sounding but when its only like $400 new its not bad for the money. I think I would chose my Ibanez over the Dean though.

As for feel wise, it felt pretty good. The next was pretty nice and I found it rather easy to play. Most basses feel weird to me though cuz I use a Curbow so I normally have my hands close to the bridge and the strings always feel weird on other basses. Very similar to Ibanez feel wise.

    I hope I have helped.

Too light. I agree, it does have an
Ibanez feel to it.I like the kneck on
    both basses though.

  5. I have a edge 4 I've been playin for about a year now. for the money I dont think you're gonna find much better. mine was $329. 5 piece super fast neck, good looks, base wood body kinda sux, but other than that a good buy. I highly recomend it.

Wow, I didnt realize the Edge had a five piece neck. Thats pretty nice.

Yeah, that basswood body does suck. But its nice and cheap too.

  7. the edge 4 has a 5 peice neck the edge 1 has a one peice (I think). the current batch of edge 4s have passive pickups with active eq. I got mine before they put in the eq.

the bass plays super good, theres not much to the tone, probably due to the body. I put flatwounds on and got a little more tone out of it.

I just got a Dean Edge 4. Love it. Super light. Thin neck. For the price I paid it was a steal. Much cheaper then a MIM Fender.

That's cool. I'm curious, what motivated you to find a 15 year old thread in which to post your opinion of Dean basses?

I don't think it matters how old the thread is as long as it's relavent.
