    Do a search, you'll find a lot of opinions. I have a Dean Edge 5 fretless that I love.

    I just got a Dean 2003 catalog. Here are the spec's.
    Rhapsody Q4
    top/body= quilt maple/mahogany
    nut= 1-1/2"
    neck/fingerboard=maple & walnut/rosewood
    inlay=ABA Dot
    tuners/hardware=grover/black chrome
    bridge=2 piece
    colors= trans amberburst,trans black,power purple
    wich i was just looking at yesterday, nice.
    and trans red.
    I know they are made in korea, an I just found out
    that some of there basses are made in the same plant as Spector basses.I own a Acoustic Dean
    performer Plus 5 string. and I have had it since 1999 and have had no problems with it.

    A friend of mine bought two Deans recently, Edge a 4 and a 5. They were both ridiculously cheap, and I was wary at first. But I played the 4, and it felt great. Nice neck, really low action without buzz.

    The 5 was ok, but the B was pretty floppy. I preferred the 4, but for the money they're both a great deal.

    I have a dean edge 5 that i have had pretty good success with. It was only $300, and it has great tone. I am parting with it soon b/c i am probably gonna get a warwick. I would get a dean, they are good basses. :bassist:

    Lemme know if/when you wanna get rid of it. I have a Dean EDGE 5 that I love. Tight string spacing on mine made it super easy to transition over from all those years of playing 4's. Anyways I wouldn't mind another for a fretless project.

  7. I got the same bass, but with the bubinga top instead of quilt maple. So far I love the tone and the playabillity. It's super nice :)

    I also have an Edge 4 fretless, which is equally sweet.
