Hey everyone. This listing is for my Dean Edge Q6 fretless. It sounds awesome, plays very well, is in great shape, and is dirt cheap. This is a great choice to get some fretless practice in. $350, NOW $299 shipped. Includes the gig bag. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks! {} {} {} {} {} {} {}
The b is as good as it gets on a sub $1500 bass. In my opinion, amongst the boutique builders, scale length doesn't make any real difference. They can make a great bass with a great b string in 33,34,35,36, or whatever. But under that $1500 mark, with the few rare exceptions, I think you have to get a 35 to have a good sounding and feeling b. I have arrived at this conclusion through the following 5 and 6 string basses I have owned: Modulus, F Bass, Roscoe, Pedulla, Kenneth Lawrence, Manne, Pavel, Kinal, Sadowsky, Dingwall, Citron, Elrick, ESP, Ibanez, Carvin, Fernandes, Tune, G&L, Yamaha, Squire, and Fender, naturally. Fernandes being the rare exception. The build quality on this Dean is really good. They cut corners on the hardware and electronics to hit a cheap price point. I actually bought a set of Nordstrand single coils and an Aguilar pre to drop in to this. With those upgrades, it would be in the ballpark of the best basses I have owned. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. But I will, if no one steps up to buy this thing soon.
Still available? Maybe I missed it, but are you saying this is a 35" scale? what strings are on it? (I've never owned a 6-string and wonder what strings you like; I'm playing DR sunbeams on a 4-string Jazz fretless currently)
These are 35" scale, yes. I am pretty sure these are nickel round GHS boomers. I like them on this bass because it has a singing, vocal-like quality that the roundwound strings compliment.
