I think that this set of strings hits the nail on the head for a metal sound. As far as playing clean. Man these things have a really crisp and airy top end. Not a whole lot of boom.( until they die ) I have been using them for about a year now. And some recent inconviences have made it so I haven't been able to get em. :-( Share your love for these strings or share your favorite brand for playing heavy metal.

  2. Well I don't play metal anymore but I use Blue Steels. Very nice strings. If you miss lo-end the try the 50-105 gauge. Very good full sounding g and d strings.
