I swear I'm not trying to be funny or sarcastic, but what is the point of this bass?
To play music.
Not my thing either but I bet it would work for someone.
Didn't the band The Presidents of the US play with 2 string instruments?
That generic answer applies to all instruments.
What style of music is what I'm asking?....057912
Thanks, I'll see if I can pull them up on youtube.....057912
The late Mark Sandman of Morphine did great things on a two string bass.
I've pulled some up on youtube, but seems to me they are extremely limited,
although one guy was playing the hell out of it.
I still don't understand why someone would spend money on one
unless it's just to be different....057912
Actually I'll throw out my answer. I picked up a 2 string bass locally earlier this year. It worked great for a project I used it on which included using a slide, bowing the strings, and needed lower register but wanting to play power chords. While they def seem to be an oddity it fit the bill for me.
You'd be surprised what you can do with only two strings!
I recently used a 2 string cigar box bass on the last track of my band's EP. Guitar player used a 3 string CBG as well.
Here's the link to the song if you wanted to check it out!
Check out Atlansia
Yeah, Atlansia have probably made the world's most expensive and high tech two string basses.
