Many thanks to Jimmy Rocket for donating the bass. It really made this kids Christmas!
That is fantastic, thanks for sharing. Major kudos to Jimmy. The good people of TB amaze me with their generosity.
Hey I remember that.
Do you have a link to the original thread?
I want to read it and I can't seem to find it.
BTW, Jimmy sent a much better bass, an almost spotless Peavey Millenium, instead!!!
Wait, that actually wasn't the thread I was thinking of but it's even more awesome!
Way to kickass guys!
Maybe you are thinking of this thread: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/so...on-i-would-like-give-away-fellow-tber-836903/
Really, the pleasure was all mine. It's good to know the bass is in good hands.
Awesome, Jimmy, awesome! x 100
Kudos Howzit too for your part.
When I told my son about Jimmy's gift he said "D" really deserves it. I asked him if he would not mind giving up the portable practice amp he was getting for Christmas. The kid did not even blink and gave willingly. My teenage daughter was moved to tears. Teenagers surprise you sometimes.
Very Cool. You should post some pics of your son playing it as a tribute to the donor.
I'm taking DeAngelo to bass lessons along with my son. I'll ask permission to get a photo of them playing together.
...my son plays a Les Paul (cause it's cool) and won't be seen with a P Bass
