Hi I have a Dearmond Pilot 4 string deluxe and am looking at upgrading, I love the tone its really fat but I am looking at something with a bit more of an edge. I love the look of the Musicman stingray and might have the possibility to buy one. The Dearmond has a long scale neck which is 35 inches long with a thin fat (if u know what I mean) neck which I have got used to but would like a shorter length as I dont have the hugest hands in the world lol. I guess my question is........what is the general consensus of the musicman stingray and are there any other alternatives, I play live and I love a good looking bass with a great tone, I haven't been playing bass for long (2 years) as I am a converted guitarist so I haven't had the opportunity to play lots of different basses, although I do have a Dean Edge which is ok to play but the tone is nothing like the Dearmond. Many thanks

The MM has a huge neck compared to the DeArmond Deluxe's, which is like a little stick in comparison.

Neck circumference at 1st fret 4" v. 4-5/8" by actual measurement.

It's not really that extreme, but it feels like a lot.
