    Fred Penner is a musician and children's show host. He would walk into the woods to a hidden area and play music and such. They had the BIGGEST RIP OFF for a character. A rodent that lived in a log and stole shiny or valuable items from the show... They never showed it. They claimed it was so good at hiding that you couldn't ever see it... pfft.

    I think it's the lens and lighting they used. Probably a wide angled lens to accent the bass. Since his face is in between expressions, I'd say they shot this at the benefit and didn't use the same kind of lighting and such they would have for a studio shoot.
