i am saddened to say that one of my closest and dearest friends passed away....he was one of the greatest men i knew...and the BEST bassist i have ever heard...

i found out 45 minutes ago....and have been crying ever i thought i'd write him a letter...mostly for my grieving purposes...but maybe the hope that he is reading it somewhere

    David Feehan,

Although you are 34 years older than me, you were one of my best friends. I have only known you for 16 years of my life, but already I am wishing just to have one of those years back. You are one of the greatest men I knew and the biggest influence that I had in picking up the bass guitar and keep practicing because one day I "wanted to be as good as Dave".

As most people do, you had your troubles in life, but overcame them to make some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. I used to love it when you would visit and bring your bass. Within 10 seconds of you playing my mouth usually dropped. But perhaps the best part of all is when you taught me lessons. Not bass lessons, but life lessons.

You never had a son but you treated me like your own. I respect and miss you so much words cannot describe. I will cry many many tears over you, but now my friend you have surly heard the 'sliver bells'. Until we meet again, I love you.

btw-silver bells is a beautiful song he had alot of religious meaning

now i'm gonna go cry some more...
i will talk to you all tomorrow
  2. Im so sorry for your loss, sounds like dave had alot of influence on your life. Its always hard to lose a loved one, but to lose a role model that you love is even harder. I couldnt imagine the pain i'd feel if I lost my best friend. My best wishes go to you & his grieving relatives.

Dude, I am so sorry. I know what it is like to lose a best friend, it is the worst feeling in the world.

There is nothing I can say that can make any of this better, but if you need someone to talk to, you know how to contact me.

i got word that he may have left one or more of his basses to me... he had 2 warwicks and an ibanez expressionist
  11. Bobby, I am sorry to hear. That's awesome that he may have left you a piece of him behind.

Let his soul live on with you man. ;)

There are treasures in one's life
    that cannot be seen,
    cannot be touched,
    are impossible to measure
    or estimate their value...
    They cannot be bought,
    yet are given for free.
    These precious gifts
    have been given to me
and have made a difference in my life
through the friend I've found in you.
Understanding - of all our different ways.
Honesty - abut what you think and feel.
Laughter - at the times we've shared.
Patience - with my changing moods.
Your friendship is amoung the treasures of my
    Life -
    growing as we grew,
    changing for the better,
Yet remaning a steady part of my days

    Let his soul RIP.

Keep your head up, Bob. He's in a better place. There ain't no tubed guitar amps... :)

thank you so much everyone...i love you all

he died of an apparent heart attack...he was only 50...not that old...

but it is comforting to know that when they ofund him...he was in a kneeling if he was praying
  15. I lost a friend last week, he was 57. awesome guy man.

thru thick and thin he'd be smiling, you know?

he died of a heart attack, in front of other buds.. eeps...

but you know, smile. thick and thin; whats the worse that can happen?

Death hurts, but it's kind of a celebration of a great person and that they are lucky yo go to the after world.. :)
