Decals, should I use them?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by grahambo420, Jun 25, 2003.

  1. I just finished refinishing a flying v clone i found laying around the local music store, i'm trying to decide if, i should put decals on the current clear coat and then put another clear coat over it, or just not bother, the bass is blue, datsun pacific blue to be exact, it was my favorite color at the auto store, any suggestions, experiences, comments? thanks
  2. just do what you think looks best.

Depends what it's made out of. If it's one of those water-slide decals, don't unless you're 100% sure. On the other hand, finish the bass without and think about some laser-cut vinyl stickers from ggstickers.com. They're great, people usually take one look and are convinced it's part of the finish. People think I actually had a $500 bass custom finished. :D But I didn't and people love it. And if I ever decide I don't like it anymore, a few mintes, fingernails, and some guitar polish will take it off harmlessly.
