Decent set of bookshelf speakers for <$75 used?

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by Peter McFerrin, Jan 18, 2004.

  1. My current stereo system is a fairly functional Aiwa all-in-one unit with a 3CD changer and some not-terribly-bad speakers. However, the all-in-one is starting to show its age and the speakers are nothing inspiring. I'd love to replace it fairly soon. I found a decent Kenwood head unit and 6-CD changer on craigslist, but I need some speakers, too.

Anyone know of a good source for bookshelf speaker reviews?

isn't bad, they seem a little dodgy at first, flashy webpage extremely low prices, but they are legit, my friend got his whole sound system from them, and it was and is totally awesome.

You can get a great set of bookshelves NEW for ~$75 for sure.

  4. Two words: Best Buy.

  5. The reason I want to go used is that you can often get much better quality stuff, especially given that audiophiles are worse gear whores than bassists and guitarists and the market is thus quite busy. ;)

  6. Ladies and gentlemen, I have found the Holy Grail: the reconditioned eBay manufacturer auction.
