Hello all, as you may know I built a line of pedal boards and I also do some custom board layout and cabling building etc. I’ve been in search of a new power supply company that would set me apart a bit and Decibel 11 hit my radar. I haven’t seen any comments or chatter so I thought I would start.

I bought a couple of HotStones, an SM and a Deluxe, I figured a few extra bucks over the more common brands wasn’t bad and the warranty was good so what the heck. Here is what I learned:

    The Good:
    1. They are built like tanks!
    2. Super, crazy quiet, even with vintage pedals.
    3. 1600 ma capacity
    4. Great versatility
    5. The customer service is second to none. It is better than I expected, even for a boutique brand.

The “Could improve on”: This could probably be a list for all power supplies!
    1. 18 volt switch-ability would be nice, cables are ok but they should include one.
    2. More cable selection on website
    3. 90 degree power cable
    4. 220 capability
    5. Integrated mounting bracket

Has anyone else made the leap? Experience? Word on the street?

    Blessings, Mike

  2. I don't know what you are talking about, but I checked your profile and was quite amazed.

There is a beauty in your profile that I have not seen until today.

And I'm not even sure what I'm talking about.

    Loyalty? I don't know.

    'Respect my brother.

Thanks Mikke that does help. Just installed another Db 11 Hot Stone Deluxe last night and I took a noisy board to a quiet board. Amazing what some isolation and shielding will do for the proformance of your board and quality of your sound.

I have come to the sad realization that I am the only person with a db11

  6. They're becoming pretty common here in Sweden, one of the premier sellers/builders of pro pedal board/rigs use them exclusively (pretty much).

But not as common worldwide as Voodoo Labs yet...

Our guitar player got one and found it was really well made.

Your comments are very astute. I agree that the power plugs should be 90 degrees to save space. I know that it adds a lot of cost to add 18V - there are just not enough 18V pedals to make it worth it.

They've got a lot of cool products - I also see that they are bringing out a lot more new products soon.

I have a Hotstone Deluxe in my primary board. Great product & definitely a PP2+ killer! The Decibel 11 cleaned up some noise for me as well.

I also do pedalboard builds and setups for professionals here in Nashville. Really great response so far on boards I have put them in.

    Hey dudes!
I realize this thread is almost a year old but I thought I`d chime in anyway!

While I was in the process of picking up 2 new effect pedals,it occurred to me that I would need a way to power them(not to mention I`ll be needing to build a second pedalboard for these two).
When I built my first pedalboard a few years ago I used a T-Rex Fuel Tank jr. and was very happy with it. So when I added 5 more pedals to the board I bought a 2nd Fuel Tank jr to help power the whole thing. Now,I have had nothing but 100% positive fit/function/durability with my 2 Fuel Tank Jr power supplies. I can totally recommend them and would buy them again. But rather than buy a 3rd one, which I would soon out grow, I thought I`d look for something different.

Even though I couldnt find much online about the Hot Stone, what I did find was positive.
The Decibel 11 Hot Stone SM cost a bit less than any other isolated power source that I could find. Always a plus when money is tight.
Another reason for the Hot Stone SM, it will power 8 pedals with its 6 isolated lines plus 2 additional power outs. By comparison,my Fuel Tank Jr has only 5 isolated outs, although by using the supplied daisy chain I was able to power 9 pedals( 4 isolated and 5 chained).
So the Hot Stone can power 8 pedals all the way up to 12 effects(with daisy chaining) and it`s cheaper than the most similar competitor(T-Rex jr & Voodoo Iso 5).

I just ordered mine today,so I`ll have to post back after I`ve used it for a bit.

    I hope this helps!

I switched from an ISO 5 to a Hot Stone Deluxe when I added a few pedals to my board. It's a great power supply. Killed some noise that was there due to daisy chaining--not suggesting noise inherent in the ISO 5--and made a few of my effects actually sound significantly better ([email protected] better).

I'm very happy with the Decibel 11 product. Added bonus: Hot Stone Deluxe was ~$40 - $75 less than comparable supplies, after discount not available to me on Voodoo 4x4 or Cioks Powerfactor 2; same 5-year warranty period as the others.

Love my Small Stone, great power supplies that cost waaay less than the other guys. I believe that Decibel 11 was started by some ex-Voodoo Labs people that wanted to do things better.

I have been seeing these all over the place lately and I was wondering how good they were. I will definitely look at them more. I am wondering if I should go all isolated. I have no noise right now but I would like to clean up the bottom of my board a bit. I'd need like 5 of those things to be completely isolated.

Anybody have any thoughts on how they compare to the cioks offerings?

Big proponent if Deci 11 here! My HotStoneDlx definitely mitigated some noise in my setup! Over-engineered and priced competitively.
