My old TE is on the fritz and I do have a Carvin R600 combo amp as a backup. However, I don't really want to use the speakers in the combo because it's too darn big. Thinking of taking the amp out of the cab and using it with my existing speakers. Question is, will my 2 8 ohm cabinets work with this?

Here's what the back of the amp says:

My cabs are rated as such:

Assuming the amp can run the 2 cabs, what will the wattage be? An amp scientist I am not.

Yes. Run the amp in bridged mode and use the bridge only outputs. Rock on.

    Wow, does that mean 700W?

Now just to get the head out of the cab!

According to your picture, yes. I have a Series III R600 head and it’s rated for 600w @ 4ohms bridged.

Got the amp out of the cabinet, screwed on top of the amp. Too hot to mess around with it now. Will try it tomorrow.
