I just had a thought about the Squire Deluxe Active V Jazz. It has an ebanol (plastic) fretboard. What problems can be expected with defretting?
I once had an Aria Pro II with a plastic fretboard. I defretted it and some of the board kind of crumbled when the frets were pulled out, right at the fret line. When I filled it with epoxy, it was OK, but you can see where the fretoard did crumble apart (small pieces).

Thought about just changing the neck. The Squire neck is 3.015" wide at the heel, Warmoth necks are 2.906" wide...won't fit.

Know of any other places that sell necks that might fit?

Search the Set-up & Repair and the Luthiers forums. There were some threads about it back when the DJAV was the newest TB GAS item. I thought about doing it myself.
