I'm in the middle of doing a refinish on a Wishbass.

After a little reshaping the single J p-up just didn't look right. I've previously fitted a Delano DJC4 to another refin (in my avatar pic) and loved the look and sound of that, so a Delano was the obvious choice for me and to go with the new curves, I thought an Xtender would be the obvious choice. I'm thinking it will be pretty cool. I'll wire in a parallel/series/split switch to the mix with a stacked tone and volume pot. I tip my hat to Brian at BestBassGear.com for his excellent service with the supply of the Delano.

When it's up and ready I'll have some sound clips.

Sweet! I'm curious to know how these pickups sound in comparison to each other. I'm really liking my Delano pickups and I've been eyeing the Xtender for a project of my own, but if it's not that much different from the other pickups in their "HE" series (such as DJC or MM) then I probably won't bother. :)

I'm expecting that it's going to be similar, but obviously the shape was an extra appeal for me. I'll certainly let you know.

Bump. I am also curious as to your opinion on the Xtenders versus the soap bar models. I saw your Wishbass clips and loved the sound. I am likely going to do Delanos in a new project bass, but it is routed for a soap bar already. I can reroute it for the xtender if there is a tonal difference, but I hate to go through the effort if it is just cosmetic.
