Is there any sort of delay with a `momentary' function available on the markt. I'm looking for a pedal that delays when you press it and stops delaying when you stop pressing the pedal.

I'll do this on mine with a "stutter" looper.

Memory Lane by Diamond Pedals can do this with an expression or volume pedal.

  4. coudn't you just replace the stomp switch on any delay pedal for this?

A Line6 DL-4 can save two sets of settings and you can smoothly move from one to the other with an expression pedal, creating all sorts of wacky effects as you mess with delay time, feedback and other parameters.

However, don't most pedals also let you switch on and off? You can do that with the DL-4, which is a great little box, but I would have thought that was pretty much standard. Tap on, tap off rather than tap-hold-release but that should work for all but the shortest fragments of delay.

How do you make such a modification? Is it easy enough to do yourself?

  9. yeah, just get a replacement stomp switch from a radioshack type store, maybe small bear electronics (i know they have one, i accidently ordered one for my green ringer) I don't know what kind of switch boss makes, but i'm sure you can find it...its not hard if you know how to solder...

It works for direct switches, not for electronical relays such as Boss units for example.
The best solution is a momentary switch on a Loooper style box.

  11. i didn't realize that boss pedals don't have regular switches!
