Talented guy, I'm sure. Just don't like his technique. Thx for sharing.
Brings new meaning to the phrase "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."
My first thought was,"He slaps like an old guy."
What I mean by that is he has that approach like someone who is aware of the technique but doesn't want to take the time to add it I his arsenal properly, so he's approximating what he's heard and trying to get "close".
No offense meant by that, just poor technique. He probably rocks some walking lines, though.
KEEP. THE. GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE!
Just my 2c. Mr. Wooten can speak for himself.
Aside bad technique, no sense of melody, no groove and bad time, it was the best thing I have every heard. The firing squad is loaded and ready. Put this son of gun out of his misery!
Man, he makes it look so easy.
Wow...all I can say is find a new teacher!
OP Never said that he plays bass or that Italo teaches him bass.
Maybe he is taking piano lessons from this guy.
That was kinda hard to listen to. I didn't make it past 30 seconds.
Even his talking is way over constricted..
Umm...I had to watch this a couple of times to be sure I wasn't missing the point. I think I missed the point. So, unfortunately I watched several of this guys videos. I'll save you the trouble of watching them yourselves. He sounded reasonable on the Piano and the Sax. He might be able to play the Guitar and Drums, but he definitely is not very well versed in Violin, Banjo, and Bass! I mean no offense, but this sounded like Saturday morning at the NAMM show. A cacophony of meaningless noise. Of course, this is just one man's opinion. YMMV.
Woah. There for a moment I thought I was in a Guitar Center.
Yeah, it sounds more like mindless noodling than a 'creation' or composition.
Now that is avant-garde.
