i know some cats here have. to me theyre really both hi-fi. in the total spectrum of preamps, i actually think these two sound a lot alike. the aggie has more tonal flexibility (even if you go with a demeter hbp-1).

    one sounds like apples
    one sounds like oranges

seriously, they're very different sounding beasts. I've owned both. The demeter is a hi-fi tone, the aguilar is thick tubey goodness. Both good, just a question of what you want. As joker said, search is your friend. And basstasters.com is also very handy!

I own the dem...it's very hi-fi but the tone is warm too...
I never tried the aggie, I think it's more warm...right?
If I want a warmer and fat sound I think the aggie is better...
I'd like to make a comparison...I must to go at Basszone in Milan, the Italian aguilar dealer, and make a comparison...it's the only way to understand which is the best for me...
