Just picked up a sansamp on reverb which is on its way. But I already have a 10 band mxr eq pedal. So in my head, seeing as how to me a big part of a di's sound is its own eq, it's one or the other. Would there be any real reason to have them co-exist? Wouldn't running the mxr on top of the di take away a lot of the di's sound? Tx!

I don't think it's necessarily one or the other, especially when you're talking about a 10-band graphic versus a parametric 3-band preamp EQ. The two devices have different strengths and weaknesses and so can be used in different situations. You may use the 10-band less with a Sansamp caboosing your signal chain, but it's still worth having to notch problem frequencies, compensate for PA configuration (no subs means you'll want to cut 50Hz and boost higher bass to give the illusion of more low end from the more limited system), give yourself an option for a middier edgier tone at the press of a footswitch, etc.

It could be super usefull if you want/need two different sounds. The Sansamp could be your always on, and the MXR could be a boost. It could be used to boost bass frequencies if you want to solo a bridge pickup. Options are there.
