Did anyone ever get to play those anniversary graphite necked Stingrays?

I'm just curious as to how they sound. I have a 5 string Stingray that sounds great (and is up for sale, because I really just love 4 strings- it's a tobacco burst RW model if anyone is interested), and if the 4 sounds remotely as good, it'd definitely be something for me to check out. They do look as cool as hell.

I checked them out at the NAMM show and they seemed really nice. You might also consider putting a Moses Graphite neck on any of the wood Stingrays and end up with a great player.

Yes, at a GUITAR CENTER, of all places (they didn't give any to GCs, I thought, but someone traded). I didn't like it at all. The regular stingrays are bright enough, which I already don't like, but the graphite neck didn't help it one bit. Felt absolutely killer, but the tone just wasn't right, at least for me. I'm sure in the right hands, its a great bass...but those aren't my hands, I suppose.

It's sure nothing I'd pay nearly $2000 for. A Status is one thing, but the MM pickup with a Status (ie, very bright) neck just didn't work. Just IME.
