did Conklin ever make a GT 6-string bass?

  1. I always hear a lot about their GT7s, and i've seen some 4s and 5s on the internet, but i have never seen a 6...are there any?

    Nope, just 4, 5 & 7. A 6 would have been cool, though :cool:

    They made a prototype GT-6 for Mark Mendoza but it never went into production.

    I played it one time While I was at Conklins shop.Marco told me that he didn't like it.

    I think Conklin wanted to get into the 7 string Niche, hence the 7 and not the 6.
  8. well, i just sent an email, so maybe Mr. Conklin can write back to me, and i will tell people here, if anybody was interested...
  9. yep...Mr. Conklin wrote back to me today saying that the reason that they never made 6 string basses is that they wanted to push the 7 string bass, which did lead a lot of people into the 7 string world...

    hopefully if they go for another round with groove tools there will be a 6 string model
