    Did Fender make a MIM Precision SHORT-SCALE Bass in 2005 or 6 with a 28 3/4" scale? I have a chance to pick on up but I don’t know if it’s a real Fender. Serial # MZ5062063

As far as I can remember, the only short-scale Fender bass around that time would have been the Mustang, but I could be wrong.

It's probably a P-Bass Junior. They were made for kids. But they are said to be pretty good tone-wise. They were 28.5" scale if I remember correctly. They've been discontinued for a few years, but they pop up now and again on eBay.

That Serial Number is most likely from the last year they were made.

If the price is right, snatch it up.
