On Saturday I was walking past "Cash Converters" (read "pawn shop").
In the window was a Fender Jazz Bass priced at £110 (about 160 dollars).
I went in and bought it Immediately!
It's a Japanese model, the serial number dates it to 1990.
Sunburst finish, Tortoiseshell pickguard and nicely "aged" looking hardware - plays like a dream.
Great neck, no major dings anywhere.
    Good price or what?

Not bad! With any shop like that, you've got to know what you're looking for to distinguish between bargains and over-priced junk.

I'd suspect that your local Cash Converters store doesn't have any bass players on the staff... ;)

Probably not, seeing as how they plugged it in to the reverb channel of a 5 watt guitar practice amp for me to try out!
  4. O.K., now all you have to do is go back and see if you can find another one for me :D !

Great score, wish I was that lucky...
  5. That's an excellent score! Those Japanese Fenders are great values.
