Did Jaco ever record with a P Bass?

    Yes he did. On Word Of Mouth much of it was on a FRETTED P BASS.

    Actually it was a fretted jazz bass. Per Ingrid Pastorius.
     
  5. Not sure. I doubt it though, he always said P's were too muddy.

    Yea he was never a fan of P's. he always owned and played Jazz's. Except for his upright, and Acoustic.

    Hmmm.....You may be right about the Jazz bass on Word Of Mouth. He must have used the neck pickup on a bunch of it then. It sounds like a P bass though. I'll have to check. I know that he did borrow P basses though when he was out of money and on the street. Sad:-(

    yes, In fact he played a show with a non-Fender bass before *gasp*... If I was out of money and on the street I'd use anything I can get. But he prefered the Jazz, and only owned the jazz.
