I am wanting to buy a kay and trying to find out the difference in a Kay C-1 and M-1. To be used for Bluegrass.
I have a Engelhardt C-1 now which is about 4 or 5 months old.
    Please advise.

    Thanks,

  2. Hey Truegrass

    Lots of info on www.kaybass.com

C1 has rounded corners for seated playing (concert bass), while the Maestro model is violin shaped. Have played lots of both, and the individual instrument is way more important than the model.

Buy the one that sounds good.

This should have been posted under the basses heading, and fill out your profile while you're at it, always nice to hear from another bluegrass player (though we may be considered pond scum in some circles)
