Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by astronauts_suck, Jul 9, 2005.

  1. This has confused me for quite a while....

Whats the difference between a Rickenbacker 4001 and 4003?

updated trussrod system to make it more roundwound friendly - therefore making the neck a bit thicker.

much hotter pickups with no .0047 cap

    bigger headstock

...and every time this question comes up, someone will mention that the 4001 only has one truss rod (no hard feelings, it's just a semi-common misconception.) Anyway, it isn't true, Rick basses have always had two truss rods. Here's proof from Rickenbacker's 1957 catalog. ;) http://www.rickenbacker.com/images/cf57-6.jpg
