Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me personal experiences playing the 64 and 74 AVRI Jazz Bass'. How do the tones compare? I heard in a demo that the 64 was smoother, but does it have a more low end focus growl versus that punchy sharp 74 sound?

    -Thanks guys and gals

Bump. I ask because the demos I've seen are either funk or very nowhere in the ballpark of rock music and that's what I'd be using it for.

  4. Either will be fine - the difference would be small. For rock the 60's bass will look the part better and is a classic rock bass for sure. But they both work!

If they're true to the original years the bridge pickup on the 74 will be a half inch or so farther back than on the 64. That makes for more upper mids when the bridge pickup is on.
