The SUB Stingray is available as passive or active 2-band, the SUB Stingray is available as a 3-band.

The Sterling has a more narrow neck profile (1.5" at the nut), and I think the body is slightly smaller (similar to the difference between a regular Stingray and Sterling).

The 'regular' pickguards fit the SUB Stingray for sure, and I think a 'regular' Sterling pickguard will fit a SUB Sterling.

The Sterling has a neck profile closer to a Fender Jazz bass. The Stingray closer to a Fender Precision profile. I believe the Sterling body is slightly smaller.
