Different Dates on Parts of Bass

    Hello everyone! Good to be here. I'm about to pull the trigger on a used Standard Jazz Bass and I'm wondering if it's normal to have different dates on parts of the bass? The bass in question has a neck pocket dated July 06 1997 and bolt-on maple neck dated July 02 1997. I'm just thinking the bass was "waiting" for other components to be ready and put on.     Yes. I've personally seen dates over a year apart on a new Fender.

    I have seen Fender body and neck dates much further apart than four days.
    Also seen dates more than a couple months apart written in pencil on 1950s era Fender instruments. Part of a long history
