i recently put a set of dimarzzios (p/j) in my bass. love 'em. my only quibble is cosmetic- i like to see pole pieces. can i replace black adjustable allen screws with silver ones without any ill effects?

I'm pretty sure those screws are non-magnetic pole pieces. So if you can find exact replacements of the right size and length it shouldn't be a problem.

But I can tell you from experience the black screws do a better job of hiding the inevitable rust and corrosion that builds up on those things over the years. Since your concern is purely cosmetic, consider the corroded black screws will look better than chrome with equivalent corrosion... ;)
  3. get the cream coloured ones instead of black. problem solved.
