{} I recently picked this up from a local bassist...he was the second owner and never did much with it...I was curious about the whole fanned fret thing so I snagged it... However it is a five string and I really want a 4...as I don't play fivers much anymore... The original owner took out the OEM electronics and replaced them all... It has had Bartolinis installed...It also has an Aguilar OBP-3 Pre amp installed This is a Gen-1 Combustion the serial number is in the two digit range... it has one very small ding near the output jack... I will toss in a new set of Dingwall strings as well I will gladly trade this straight across for a nice Fender P or PJ or Lakland Skyline (preferably with a maple board or Bound and or Blocked Board) or even a couple of cheaper (MIM) Fenders as well as ESP Surveyor or Horizon or AP4...or other basses in the same vein (G&L, Lakland Skyline, etc.) Maybe even a Stingray...always wanted to try one... also on the trade list...Hartke Hydrive 4x10 Cab, Gallien Kreuger Neo 4x10 Cab, Orange OBC 4x10 Cab...Studio and P.A. Gear... or I would be glad to chip in some extra dough if someone wants to trade me for a NG-2 4 string... Please No Jazz Bass offers, or Fret-less offers... also not fond of gold hardware...thanks {} {} The ding {} {}
Hi! Do you know how old is it? Did you (or the last owner) change the knobs too? Does it comes with a gigbag?
As a note to prospective owners, you can get a set of replacement pickups from Dingwall for as little as $165 USD, and you'll still have saved hundreds over the price of a new Combustion. Killer deal.
Can't tell from the photo - trans white or opaque? I have a SR-5 (I know, still a 5 string) that I would consider trading possibly.
The gaps around the pickups on the v1 Combustions is the way they were made at the time. You get used to it!
Not sure when Sheldon started having these made...again the serial number is below 100 again a Gen 1 Combustion....Yes I think the knobs were changed to accommodate the Aggie pre-amp... no gigbag
in the right light you can see the wood grain through the white paint...which also sometimes causes it to look pink...
I have a 2017 American Pro Jazz Bass, sonic gray/maple/black PG I’ll trade you. Excellent condition. Located in northern CA. Thanks
