I was listeneing to Dinosaur jnr for the first time in about a decade last night. there's an overdriven bass tone to die for going through much of the album, Where you been?
Then spent about 2 hrs with a BDDI trying to match it but not really getting close. Any ideas what he might be using.

It sounds cascaded to me. Maybe a Big Muff running into a SABDDI? It's hard to tell.

I don't know what he uses but it sounds a lot like a RAT to me.

I figured it has too much low end for a Rat, big muff maybe- cheers anyway, anyone else?

He probably split the signal anyway, so even if he used a Rat, he could just boost the clean channel till it balanced.

Probably not a Muff, or it's been processed through a lot of compression. It's dirty but polished, no leaking.
