What is the direct inject used for on the front of my amp??

Also is there any way to split a lead into two or connect 2 leads to one amp, with only 1 input

You use this to send a signal to a mixing board for recording or to be patched through a PA system.

An A/B box will do this. You can use it to switch one instrument between two amps or between two instruments connected to one amp.

A/B-boxes are inexpensive and should be available at any music store (you might have to order it).
I don't know if this exists, but a model with LED-indicators would be helpful. I have one without and I'm sometimes annoyed that I can't see which channel is active.

If you just want to split a signal (e.g. one instrument into two different amps) a simple Y-plug will do it. However this will not work if you want to connect two different signals into one input (e.g. 2 basses into 1 amp).

edit: I just realized that basskiddanny posted a similar thread in the miscellaneous forum. hunter, yawnsie, maybe you could close this one?
