    I found this one:

    http://www.musik-produktiv.de/shop2/shop04.asp/artnr/100018402/sid/!06082002/quelle/listen

    It's a BTB 556.
But how is this one ranked?
Is it a entry level like my 405 or is it the old prestige?
Is there any sites of discontinued ibanez basses?

How would you compare it to the prestige series btb and my btb 400series?

I hear people say the only BTB's they would play is the 510 and the 1000 series, is the 550 the same as 510?

And is the prestige 1200 the new 1000?

    Confusing... :D

    Hi!

I think that new BTB 55x series are the same as prestige, but without Bartolini pickups and electronics. It's better than BTB 40x in aspects of woods used, mahogany instead of basswood.

    Hope it helps!

    Okay!

If so i did a pretty bad buy when i could have got a 555 for 679eur instead of my btb 405 for 570eur :(

Is the 1000+ series really 2x as good as the 550 series if the big difference just is the electronics?

I guess the 550 is made japan?

I don't think that 550 are made in Japan, they are Korean.
And btw, i got my BTB400 for 340 euros. I think i'm lucky bastard. :D

The new 1200 series are neck-thru and different bridge(MR-4, instead of MR-2), btw!

They are not shown on the Ibanez web, yet. If they are coming out with a BTB with Bart Mk1 pups, it would be awsome. My biggest gripe with my 405 when I originally bought it was the stock pups and electronics, since taken care of. :D
