Disect this sound..heavy rounds or flats?

Discussion in 'Recording Gear and Equipment [BG]' started by Clark Dark, May 29, 2011.

  1. The highs sound a little to pronounced for flats I think, sounds like slightly old rounds to me. It does have a little of that flat scoopyness though so willing to be proven wrong!

I'm going to vote flats, though I don't know for sure.

As tone concious as many of the members are I'm surprised that only two stepped up to the plate. I thought flats because I didn't detect any zing on the pops but still sought some input from the tone meisters.

Sounds like rounds to me (rotosound?). Maybe a bit dead or the tone rolled off... definitely some heavy handed compression going on, i think that is giving it the "pap" which sounds like the attack of flats being slapped/ popped.
