Sam Marshall here again, happy to announce that we finished tracking our 2nd album, called Not Thinking Not Dreaming. It's been a year long process but we are finally done! Should be out by the end of the summer.

I have pics here. Here's the gear list:

Basses - Tung Custom 5, Carvin LB 76, Fender Jazz Fretless, Fender P Bass

Ashdown ABM Evo III, ABM 4x10 and 1x15

Universal Audio LA 610 to a Trident VFM board

Mics - Shure SM 57, Rode NT 1A, Audix D6

Effects - Dunlop Flea Bass Wah, Blackstone MOSFET Overdrive, TC Nova Delay.

Direct to UA sounded amazing! Used the mic setup mostly for distortion and wet sounds, but the majority of the bass is the direct track. Let me know if you have any questions. Used some doubling and layering, but I'll post a separate thread on that topic!

You can listen to a fresh mix on reverberation. It's called "Tightrope." Crank up that bass!

Hope you like it! Open to comments, suggestions, and criticisms!

And special thanks to friend and fellow Talkbasser neald for loaning me the brutal P Bass. A fine specimen complete with Basslines pickup and Tone Styler tone pot.

Glad you like it! Artifice was our single from our first album, "Simulacrum," which featured a different line up including a cellist/keyboardist. Our new lineup will feature a holographic cellist while I cover keyboard parts.

I think that Tightrope is your closet single that connects and sounds more "Mainstream", to me personally anyway. One of my favorite songs by you guys.
Suffocating is killer as well. I like Too Late also.

Of course I'm a fan of Simulacrum too. Artifice and Manifest are a couple of favorites. I like the Bass in Manifest a lot.

    Rock On Sam!

Your a great bass player my friend.
