    I'm messing with him...

The signal chain in the video is:
    Bass>comp>wah>muff>amp

There is no fx loop on a tiny practice amp.

I think it was just a poor choice of words on his part. You can obviously see in the video that the Big Muff is the first thing plugged into the amp.
I honestly don't know exactly how Cliff Burton ran his order of effects. But what I do know is, when I have my Morley Power Wah Boost before my Wren and Cuff Pickle Pie, it sounds WAY more like Cliffs tone than the other way around.
I've read that Cliff used the Morley Fuzz Power Wah early on and then switched to The Power Wah Boost with out the fuzz. I also read that he used an Ibanez 808 Tube Screamer at some point in time. I guess it really doesn't matter what Cliff really did, as long as whoever is trying to get his tone, gets it which ever order of effects he uses.

I have an AW-3 (Auto Wah)--but the same principle applies to pedal wahs as well--I place a distortion before the wah and one after--that way I can have either distorted wah or wahhed distortion--or both.
    Try it.
