That's what I wanted! Do you know the port sizes?

On the back of the cab, there are two triangular ports at the bottom. They're created by cutting away the corners at 45 degrees. Inside each corner, there's a piece of plywood 6-1/2" deep to create a tube. Inside these tubes, the angled edges are 4 inches wide. Photo attached.

THanks! Looks like you're doing really nice work!

  4. I use a 3/8' roundover as well with those type plastic corners.

I'm somewhat lost in your drawing. Do you mean the hypotenuse is 4", and it's a right isosceles triangle?

If so, the side lengths would be somewhere over 2 3/4", but under 3". The reason why I am asking is for calculating the volume of the vents you are using.

Yep, the hypotenuse is 4" (referring to the inside surface of the plywood "tube").

That drawing is in fact my working sketch, but it's so funky I thought it might give somebody a laugh.

Way more intricate and detailed than a lot of my sketch guidelines when I'm prototyping.

That should be just under 50 cubic inches of vent. Around 47.7cu according to my mediocre math skills to go along with my mediocre bass skills.

Update: the edges are now shaped with a 3/8" roundover router bit. Black paint in the port tubes and on the speaker baffle.

Tolex due to arrive Tuesday, and also speaker/input plate purchased from agedhorse -- thanks!. Thanks also to basscooker, who's volunteered to have a metal shop match my original Shuttle grill. These are really nice guys going out of their way to help me out.

Mini-stack should be up and going by end of next week!

OK, here it is: my bootleg Shuttle 8T!
And my tiny monster stack. :)
Now I'm waiting for my repaired Shuttle 3.0 amp to arrive Monday...

Thanks to agedhorse and basscooker for the necessary parts!

You may have seen this page, but I don't believe it's indexed on their site. At least where I was looking: Shuttle Series | GENZ BENZ

Crossover spec was 5KHz, so that 8 must go beyond that some.

Have you tried to play your DIY without the original to see how it sounds?

Good thought. I'll try that. So far I've added it into the mix with the original cab and it's great. I'm calling this mini-stack the Fat Little Monster.
