DMX LED PARs- 3 channels or 7?

I have some new LED PARs which can run from 3-7 channels. The first three channels are RGB, the remaining ones are Strobe, Color Picker, Mode, and Intensity.

I have no use for Strobe, Color Picker and Intensity can be done from the RGB channels, and I can't think of a reason I'd want to put it in self-driven sound-active mode via DMX, or any of the other built in modes when I have a full DMX controller to do that kind of stuff.

So is it a mistake to just set them to three channel mode and go with it?
