Do any of you guys click those pop-up ads that look like a Windows computer prompt?

I mean, they look so phony, not to mention annoying...

Do these ads actually get any business from the people they're misleading?

  2. I don't. My dad fell for one though. He's not exactly a computer wiz.

Absolutely not. I'm totally paranoid about pop-ups, spam and weird mail with attached mystery objects. They go straight to the incinerator without opening them. Only way to behave if you want your computer to stay virus and worm free.

The whole concept of pop-ups is completely idiotic to me. It's seems like harrasment to me. And I won't buy anything from anyone who uses a technique like that (telemarketers, etc). I'm surprised that they actually make a profit, well popup's don't cost much... errr. Whatever.

And those talking one's piss me off.

Yeah, and keep that stupid Gator software from installing on your computer. Damn spyware that just slows your comp down.

My favorite is the old woman shaking her finger at you the words reading "Is there pornography on your computer?"

  8. Hey, man, have some sympathy for the elderly. Not all of them know how to use a computer, so either let her look at your porn or show her how to search for her own.

I like the ones that ask, in big, bold letters "Is there pornography on you're computer you don't know about!?"

About that time, I usually think "Gee, I hope not, 'cause that means I've hidden porn from myself."
