Do I plug BB604 with active EQ into 'active' on amp?

Bit of a silly question, I'm pickin up a Yamaha BB604 tomorrow, and it has on-board Active EQ, rather than pickups (I think)

Would it still plug into 'Passive' on my amp, or would it go into Active? Or is it only basses with active pickups that would?

    Thanks in advance,
  2. I have a Stingray and an Ibanez Musician that both have active EQs. I always plug them into the passive input. The volume on my Musician actually drops slightly when I switch the active circuit on if I don't use any boost. I'd say try both inputs, but, start out at a low volume. If something sounds like it's straining, turn it down. I don't think "active" and "louder" are necessarily the same thing.

  3. Always use the passive input.

I plugged my actice bass into the passive input just to hear what it sounded like, and I've been doing that ever since. ;)

Well I tried it in both active and passive and at such a low volume (altho it was Trace 150 watt combo) I couldn't really tell any difference - so passive it is.

    Lovely bass tho :)
