    Hey, the title rhymes!

anyways, I currently have a G&L L-2000, and love the tone and versatility, but ive been looking into a geddy lee jazz (with black pickguard, mmm) and a rick 4003, and was wondering if i really need either of them, or can the G&L emulate their sounds well enough for me to get by until my financial situation improves?

And to all the L-2000 owners, if it can get these sounds what setting will do it?

    Mesa AZ.
Trying to get a bass to sound like another bass is like trying to make lemonade out of oranges. Work with what you have, bring out the best in your instrument and use the attributes to your advantage. If you are not getting a sound that is appealing to you and are starting to hate the tone, get rid of it. All you really need is a bass that works for you, it sounds like you are not happy with the G and L. If that is the case then proceed to the classifieds.
