I already have a Digitech bass sw and a EHX bassball? or shall I buy one regardless ignoring the poor state of my bank balance! Thanks
Heh. I've got an EHX BassBalls and a DOD FX25 (not the new FX25B) right now. I use all of my filters specifically though. The BassBalls is set on distortion mode for that gnarly growly vocal sound that I can't get out of anything else, and I am playing around with where to put the FX25 in my chain currently. The way the FX25's envelope opens and closes is very unique and you can get some really interesting sounds out of it just by plucking one string really hard and allowing it to ring and plucking another string at the same time in decreased intensity. Probably going to get a BSW at some point or another as well if I can get one on the cheap . But then again, I guess that's why I'm an Envelope Filter Junkie . My advice to you: Get one if you can afford to do so. But! If need be, save up and wait for that opportune sale/auction. Then, unleash the flood gates .
