You tell me. I never use effects now, and I'm not really jonesing for some, but is this thing fun enough and useful enough to warrant having one in the arsenal?

    You tell me.

No. It'll sit on a shelf unused after the initial browsing through all the presets.

I know this but still buy more electronic gadgets. They are fun for a while and sometimes even give me some new ideas, but I wish I could stop myself and buy basses or amps instead. Or clothes. Or food.

Do you want one? Absolutely. Do you need one? Nah.

  6. I havn't really tried the GT-6B yet, but I have tried it's Geetar Counterpart. If it's anything like it, it really is kinda skimpy on the "effects" part... It's more modeling than an effect...

If you ever change your mind and decide you need one, just let us know, we'll then convince you to get it.

I have a GT-6B and it's main feature is amp modelling, which is fine if that's what you want, though it can take some work to get the sound you want from it. It does all the normal distortion stuff (though i dont really like most of the distortion effects available on it). Synth bass is fun to mess around with but isnt useful unless you play really clearly. Ring modulation allows for some funky sounds (R2D2 style).

there're a few other useful things (like the compressor) but really other than for special occasions (other than maybe flange/phasers) it's not that useful, but if that's what you want go for it.

Naw. I had a BassPOD, and it did some cool stuff but, like I said, I'm really not into effects or amp modeling. On the POD, the only amp model I liked was "Adam and Eve," whatever that was.

munji - i believe the 'adam & eve' is an eden model, though i'm not sure which one. i'm sure it says in the manual, but i'm not very close to that at the moment...

After trying almost all of the "Bass Multi-Effects" I could find (and buying/selling several  ) I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't find one that sounded or did exactly what I wanted....so I put together this:

I like the individual stomp boxes, but if the GTB6
Is cheap enough grab it, you may like it. here is what I use.[IMG]
