Do Seymour Duncan preamps have a gain control in them?

    I can't find schematics or anything on the SD website.

    no. there are trim pots for bass + treble boost for the slap contour.

    So then I could adjust the pots and the treble boost for more oomph?

    These only take place with slap contour engaged, so remember that. Also remember that a fixed amount of mid cut is applied, so the sound really isn't going to have much ooomph. It'll be your typical slap friendly EQ
