So the leader of our NY Jazz Academy band has us transcribing Lester Youngs solos off "Lady Be Good", yes even the bass player. He recently turned me onto the Blog of Ethan Iverson, the piano player from The Bad Plus. On his site he had a whole tribute to Lester Young, including a transcription of the Lester solo, with Walter Pages bass line underneath. Checking this out led to me reading most of his site so far. He has some great interviews with Wynton Marsalis, Ron Carter, etc..

He is very into bass, and also drums, and much of his discussion has been very educational. He also has reviews of Classical stuff, and a great interview with Gunther Schuller.

Its not really technique, so I didn't put this in the Jazz category. There is a lot of great Jazz information at this site, however, hours of fun
