This is going to be my new Sadowsky Standard 4:

I'm going to have the Diamond control layout like the 24 fret 5 string model. I was thinking of putting some type of pickguard on it & I cut this out of loosleaf paper & put it on my quilt Standard 4:

    What do you think?

It looks nice to me BUT it looks like it won't work the same way on the new bass, because the controls are much higher up (towards the neck) on the bass.

The controls aren't drilled out on the white bass yet. I just placed the knobs on the body. The placement of the knobs on the white bass will be in the same location as the quilt bass.

  4. what color are you thinking of using for that?
i like the design (though i would thicken up the part pointing down towards the controls, it looks unproportional to the part going up the treble horn.)
a black p/g on a white body always looks nice (to me, anyway.)

Is it possible to not have a P/G? I like that the best.

I like the design. Black or tort would be nice. On my monitor the bass has almost a green/yellow tinge. Is that correct? If so I would recommend a green pearl guard.

The bass is transparent white. The green tint is the picture.

I was thinking of a Black Pearl or Black pickguard with Black hw on the bass.

A tort pg would look nice but IMO with chrome hw.

I could do no pg. I haven't deceided yet.

Why bother asking? You're just going to ruin it with a mirror pickguard anyway!!

Personally I like the transparent white finish a lot (looks pretty similar to the finish on my MPG Level 5) and would not put a pickguard on it at all.

    that finish is pretty georgeous!

Some basses could do with a pick gaurd but I think just dress it up with some black hardware with "maybe" a black pick guard and your going to have beat of the GASers

In that case, I would vote for black pearl or leave it alone. Man you cause me to suffer G.A.S. :( :D :D
